Eid al-Adha to be celebrated on 31 July in Saudi Arabia

Eid al-Adha is an Islamic festival to commemorate the willingness of Ibrahim (also known as Abraham) to follow Allah’s command to sacrifice his son. Muslims around the world observe this event.

The holy ‘Eid al-Adha’ will be celebrated in Saudi Arabia on July 31 (Friday).
According to a report in Gulf News, the Saudi Moon Sighting Committee confirmed on Monday that the moon of the month of Jilhaj was not seen in the country yesterday. The country’s Supreme Court then ruled that the holy month of Jilkad would be completed in 30 days on Tuesday. The month of Jilhaj will start tomorrow, Wednesday.

A meeting of the National Moon Sighting Committee will be held today to decide the date of Eid al-Azha in Bangladesh and to review the news of moon sighting in the holy month of Jilhaj.

If the moon of the holy month of Jilhaj is seen anywhere in the sky of the country, it has been requested to inform the following telephone and fax numbers or the Upazila Nirbahi Officer.
